The garden centre is a developing social enterprise and stocks a wide range of shrubs, herbaceous perennials, vegetable plants and herbs. We specialise in seasonal bedding plants, the majority of which are grown on site by our service users and volunteers, and we pride ourselves on the quality of our stock. We produce a range of hanging baskets and containers and can also make them to order to customer specification. In addition, we stock houseplants, compost, top soil, bark chippings, decorative stone, garden fertilizers and sundries.
We also have a small tea shop offering tea and homemade cake, served in pretty vintage china,
with a small sheltered outdoor seating area. We are proud to stock a range of goods produced by volunteers in other areas of BITA Pathways and these include homemade chutney, floral
arrangements (also available to order), woodcraft and pottery items, which are produced at our Pottery Studio in Martineau Gardens, Edgbaston.
We are an accredited City & Guilds training site and we offer Level 1 training in
horticulture, to people experiencing mental ill health.
Learners are encouraged to volunteer at the centre alongside, or upon completion of their course,
to enhance their learning and experience in a horticultural environment which provides an invaluable opportunity in an authentic work setting.
